Nantes: a dynamic region, an ideal location, a city of Art and Gourmandise.

20 January 2025

Located in the heart of the vineyards, yet just a stone’s throw from the Nantes metropolis, Skylab is ideally situated for local and international events (MICE).

Skylab draws its identity from the region’s entrepreneurial dynamism and cultural ferment: ART CHI TECH.

Nantes and its region, a cultural and artistic environment

Located on the banks of the Loire River, Nantes is renowned for its creative spirit, originality and ability to take risks.
From the Château des Ducs de Bretagne to Place Graslin, downtown Nantes offers a multitude of dining and entertainment venues to suit all tastes.

Thanks to attractions such as the Machines de l’Île, which combine art, innovation and technology, or ephemeral events such as the Voyage à Nantes, which transforms the city into an open-air gallery every summer, cultural life is punctuated by events all year round.

Numerous artists draw their inspiration from it, such as Nadia Barbotin, who will be holding an exhibition at Skylab in the first quarter of 2025, and today’s hottest artists, such as Justin Weiler.

Smooth, sustainable mobility
Nantes also stands out for its modern, environmentally-friendly transport network, making it an easy city to get around.
Nantes is also well connected to the rest of France and Europe thanks to its TGV station, which puts Paris just 2 hours away.
The Nantes Atlantique international airport offers numerous connections to European cities, making the city highly accessible to our European neighbors and beyond.

An economic and technological hub
Nantes is a major economic hub in western France, particularly in the technology, agri-food and aeronautics sectors.
The city is also a key player in innovation in the healthcare sector. Numerous flagship companies are based in the Pays de la Loire region, which actively supports them through a number of initiatives (such as the French Care Pays de la Loireassociation, one of the largest groupings of healthcare players in France).
As for the future Nantes University Hospital project, a veritable flagship, it brings with it a research ecosystem and an entrepreneurial dynamic that will further position Nantes and its region as a major European player.

A gourmet and refined terroir
France is a world-renowned gastronomic center, and Nantes is no exception.
A true paradise for food lovers, Nantes offers a rich palette of flavors from its local terroir.
While the city is known for its LU cookies and berlingots nantais, it is also the crêpes au beurre salé that celebrate local gastronomy. Traditional dishes such as Loire fish and seafood can also be enjoyed here, thanks to its strategic location just a stone’s throw from the Atlantic Ocean.

Just a few kilometers from the city where Skylab is located, the vineyards of Nantes offer an essential dry white wine, perfect for accompanying local oysters and seafood: Muscadet.
The vineyards of Nantes surround Skylab, and one of these wineries, Domaine de la Foliette, is one of the partners with whom we have the pleasure of collaborating.

Skylab – International training and conference center

In short, Nantes stands out for its ability to combine a wealth of artistic talent, a dynamic healthcare sector and entrepreneurial innovation. And it’s precisely this singular synergy between Art, Health and Innovation that forms Skylab’s identity: ART / CHI / TECH.

This identity is reflected in the atmosphere of a contemporary building, in its innovative equipment and programs, and in the personalized service offered by its highly qualified teams.
