Surgery is a constantly evolving discipline. Every year, new advances and discoveries redefine techniques and improve patient care. To meet these challenges, ongoing training for surgeons is essential. Skylab, a surgical training center, is committed to supporting these professionals by providing state-of-the-art equipment and an optimized learning environment. These training courses, supervised by expert surgeons, enable practitioners to reduce their learning curve, increase their precision and master the most advanced procedures. <\/em><\/p>\n\n

The facility, a veritable hub in the heart of the Nantes vineyards, is a meeting place for surgeons, manufacturers and medical experts. The training courses hosted by Skylab are primarily aimed at surgeons, but their approach goes far beyond this single audience, targeting a wide variety of healthcare professionals, from surgeons to sports medicine doctors, and also including medical industry manufacturers. This openness makes it possible to respond to growing demand in emerging fields, offering a greater number of professionals the opportunity to train in the most advanced techniques, while contributing to the continuous improvement of healthcare. <\/p>\n\n

Skylab’s 2025 training calendar offers a varied range of courses focusing on orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine: starting in February, professionals will be able to delve deeper into topics such as knee osteotomies and the management of ankle osteoarthritis. In March, advanced training courses will be offered, including a masterclass on the Medial-Pivot knee prosthesis, as well as courses on knee osteotomies and ligamentoplasties. Other training courses will continue throughout the year, covering a wide range of topics to meet the needs of practitioners. <\/p>\n\n

These programs are organized by key industry players such as Stryker<\/a>, Zimmer<\/a>, Vims<\/a>, Medacta<\/a> and Newclip technics<\/a>. They use Skylab as a platform for their teaching programs, enabling participants to perfect their skills in very specific areas. <\/p>\n\n

Feedback on the Focus Knee Osteotomies & PSI Course<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

In this context, Skylab recently hosted Newclip Technics’ Focus Knee Osteotomies & PSI<\/em> Course, which took place on February 6 and 7, 2025. This session brought together 23 surgeons from 12 different nationalities and was led by three expert surgeons. In addition to theoretical exchanges, the course enabled professionals to perfect their surgical techniques and explore new, innovative solutions. <\/p>\n\n

Dr. Khakha (London), a specialist in sports surgery, expressed his enthusiasm by underlining the quality of the facilities and equipment: ” This is my fourth visit and I really appreciate the facilities and equipment. I think it’s top of the range! <\/em> “. The diversity of equipment, both theoretical and practical, effectively promotes a learning experience that is both comprehensive and effective. <\/p>\n\n

Innovation at the heart of the Skylab experience<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

In addition to hands-on training, Skylab also invests in the integration of new technologies. During the latest training session, participants had the opportunity to test the HAPO<\/a> exoskeletons, designed to improve comfort and reduce fatigue for surgeons during their operations. This device, which is still not widely used, aroused a great deal of interest, with some professionals seeing it as a real opportunity to optimize working conditions in the operating theatre. Aware of the ever-changing needs in the clinical field, the infrastructure aims to extend its training offer to other specialties, notably dentistry, urology, aesthetics, and many others… <\/p>\n\n

Skylab intends to broaden its horizons still further, by including more nursing staff in its training sessions.
