Skylab aims to evolve <a href=\"https:\/\/skylabcenter.com\/en\/skylab-med\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">surgical training<\/a> through cutting-edge technological solutions.\nIn collaboration with medical experts, specialized start-ups and technology providers such as &#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/caresyntax.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">caresyntax<\/a> &#8220;, Skylab is transforming the way surgeons train, thanks to a combination of artificial intelligence, 3D imaging and realistic modeling of anatomical structures.   <\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Here&#8217;s an overview of the innovative projects we&#8217;re currently working on.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Deliberate practice: Optimizing the video annotation platform<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since mid-2023, <a href=\"https:\/\/skylabcenter.com\/en\/the-team\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Skylab teams<\/a> and partners have been focusing on optimizing a video annotation platform dedicated to surgical images.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently able to <strong>manually trim and label videos<\/strong>, Skylab is looking to automate these processes to improve training efficiency.\nThe &#8220;caresyntax&#8221; provider plays a key role in analyzing the first images captured during training sessions, creating a database that feeds two artificial intelligence modules.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the next 5\/6 years, these modules will enable :<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Automatically trim and label video sequences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognize and distinguish correct surgical procedures from errors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify the precursors of these errors, such as poor positioning, to prevent their occurrence in real time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These improvements, once validated, will be disseminated to other teaching centers and hospitals, reinforcing the effectiveness of surgical training programs.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The aim of <a href=\"https:\/\/e-memoire.academie-chirurgie.fr\/fr\/ememoire\/6028-une-nouvelle-methode-denseignement-de-la-chirurgie-la-pratique-deliberee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deliberate practice <\/a>: to reduce learning curves in order to present errors and prevent them from recurring.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"606\" height=\"342\" src=\"https:\/\/skylabcenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/pratique-deliberee-jpg.avif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3103\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Improving the interactivity of the learning platform<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Skylab is also working on improving its pedagogical platform to offer a more interactive and personalized learning experience for each user.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thanks to the addition of new functionalities, each surgeon in training will have a personalized workspace where he or she can :<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Follow live training sessions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Watch videos of your own work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access a library of errors, invaluable for avoiding future complications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This individualized approach aims to optimize the learning experience, enabling surgeons to benefit from follow-up tailored to their progress.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3D modeling of anatomical parts<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Skylab has teamed up with several start-ups, including <a href=\"https:\/\/addidream.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Addidream<\/a>, to model anatomical parts in 3D, integrating soft tissue on printed pathological bone.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These models will reproduce the elasticity and deformability of anatomical structures with the utmost precision, enabling surgeons to practice under conditions that are close to the real thing.\nThe challenge is to make bone-tissue junctions as realistic as possible, while guaranteeing their strength and flexibility. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These innovations will enable surgeons to be trained with models that mimic real surgical conditions, making training more efficient and realistic, and sparing the use of anatomical parts as much as possible.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Creation of intra-articular fracture models<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, Skylab aims to create complex intra-articular fractures on cadaveric bone.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following a detailed analysis of fracture biomechanics, Skylab&#8217;s teams will reproduce different types of fracture using a specific machine currently under development and soon to be patented.\nThis project will create realistic scenarios for training surgeons in the treatment of the most complex and delicate fractures. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Thanks to innovative projects and strategic partnerships, Skylab is positioning itself as a leader in surgical training in the Loire basin and in France as a whole.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>By combining artificial intelligence, multi-media 3D printing and an interactive teaching platform, Skylab is transforming teaching methods and improving the quality of care provided by future surgeons.  <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>In this way, the company is helping to shape the future of medicine, by promoting increasingly precise and immersive
